Use of Sold Products

This category represents the GHG protocol category 11 Use of Sold Products and accounts for emissions that are produced by the use of the product in its end state. If your company produces intermediate products, the use of the final product should be partly accounted for. The use can either be by consumers or business customers.

What is included

This category included products that directly consume energy (fuel or electricity) during use, fuels and feedstocks and GHG and products that contain or form GHG that are emitted during use. Calculation of emission related to the Use of Sold Products include:

  • number of product sold
  • emission sources related to the sold product (fuel, fugitive, electricity)
  • consumption over the product lifetime for each emission sources (mT or MWh)
